A note from Capt. O.P. Alquist
Some letters from Dip’s family and friends also survived his travels, I will share them when possible. Today’s letter is from Dorance’s father, Oscar Alquist. It is read to us by Dorance’s future nephew, Larry Jordan. Thanks for the help Larry.

Hello Sonny Boy – Just a few words to let you know my Golf Game is rotten. Our State Fair opens today and there sure is a crowd of people in town. Swanny & Sykes were over last night for a while and read your letters. This is a very lonesome house we have now. The apples & plums are ripe. Mother & I are going out to tonka today to play cards & fish. Sending you a few stamps.
Yours “Pop”
