Dear Folks: -
Just returned from playing three rousing sets of tennis at the Langridge’s – that’s my farmerette’s place. My game is really getting in the groove – I think I’m better than I was back at home. Must be the expert instruction I’m getting.
Haven’t had a pass now for almost a month, altho I have been in on a couple of week ends. So Gene & I are scheduled to take a pass next Tuesday returning on Thursday. We plan to take in a big officer’s shin-dig which is scheduled also for Tuesday.
This Sunday the girls (Lillian & Winsom) have invited us on a launch trip to a nearby island for a picnic. Have never been to this island but I hear there is sort of a resort there – place to dance, tennis courts, etc. I spose we’ll take some rackets along & have a game.
Oh, big news, I received my blouse & pinks, etc. yesterday! They made pretty good time didn’t they? Everything was in perfect condition & hardly even needs pressing. Don’t see how you ever squeezed the garrison cap in, but it also was in very good shape. Thanks for getting it to me in such quick time, now I can really dress up for my pass.
So you finally got a coffee table – swell. I can remember almost buying one for the house one Xmas before I left. Guess you’ve wanted one for a long time. Can you use it to serve tea too – I’m a died in the wool tea-drinker now you know.
Wouldn’t it be a coincidence if Dot’s boy is born on the 27th. I’d sure be glad if it could happen that way.
No mail has come in for several days so I have no news to tell. I’ll say good bye now & go to the movies.
All my love, Dorance
